The HPH Government Coordinating Council (GCC) is a chartered organization comprised of federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial (FSLTT) government partners with equities in or closely aligned with the HPH Sector. The GCC facilitates interagency and cross-jurisdictional cooperation to assess, prevent, prepare for, respond to, and mitigate threats and risks to the HPH Sector. The GCC supports work to sustain the essential functions of the nation's healthcare and public health system and effective emergency preparedness and response to nationally significant hazards.
As the Sector Risk Management Agency for the HPH Sector, ASPR’s Division of Critical Infrastructure Protection is one of the chairs of the GCC, whose members include professionals representing FSLTT government agencies responsible for emergency support functions, health system security, physical safety, and protection of healthcare and public health critical infrastructure. GCC organizational members are generally represented by director-level representatives, or their assignees, and carry out a range of activities, including evaluating risks; coordinating planning; advising on policy; and providing guidance to mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from all hazards faced by the nation's healthcare and public health critical infrastructure.
