The Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) Formulary Update is designed to provide public health partners and stakeholders with an overview of the nation’s repository of emergency medical countermeasures (MCMs), including pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and equipment, for lifesaving care currently available in the SNS, with added information on changes and new medical countermeasures as of April 2024. This course will help participants better understand the increasing number of SNS-held products by threat and product type and how these products can supplement MCMs needed by states, tribal nations, territories, and the largest metropolitan areas during public health emergencies.

The Introduction to Federal Medical Station and Alternate Care Site consist of two modules. The FMS module is designed to familiarize public health partners and stakeholders with an overview of the FMS mission, capabilities, and formulary, as well as an orientation to the 50-bed and 250-bed FMS cache configurations, components of an FMS bariatric kit, and facility and logistical support requirements to successfully conduct FMS operations. The ACS module covers how FMS can be utilized to establish Alternate Care Sites (ACS) to provide acute care using different ACS models established by the Federal Healthcare Resilience Task Force ACS Toolkit.
