Public Meeting: February 17, 2022

National Advisory Committee on Children and Disasters




The NACCD will conduct an inaugural public meeting (virtual) on February 17, 2022. The new advisory committee will be sworn in along with the presentation and discussion of challenges, opportunities, and priorities for national public health and medical preparedness, response and recovery, specific to the needs of children and their families in disasters.

Members of the public may attend the meeting via Zoom teleconference, which requires pre-registration, and may provide written comments, submit questions to the NACCD, and provide comments after the meeting by email to NACCD@hhs.gov.

Register to Address the NACCD

The NACCD is inviting key stakeholder groups to address the committee and share their ideas on issues related to challenges, opportunities, and strategic priorities for national public health and medical preparedness, response and recovery specific to the needs of children and their families in disasters. The NACCD invites those who are interested to request up to 4 minutes to address the board in person via Zoom.

  • Request Deadline: February 11, 2022
  • Key Stakeholder Groups: Individuals who are involved in or represent a relevant industry, academic institution, health profession, health care consumer organization, or state, tribal, territorial, or local government.
  • Time Limit: To ensure that the NACCD has the opportunity to hear multiple perspectives from our stakeholders, we are limiting comments to 4 minutes per speaker or group.
  • How to Apply: Please send your request to present before the committee to NACCD@hhs.gov and include the name of the speaker, organization, and a full explanation of the intended comments.
