The NACSD and the NACIDD will conduct a joint virtual public meeting on August 4, 2022. The two committees will provide a status update on their work since March on topics related to national public health and medical preparedness, response, and recovery, specific to the needs of older adults and people with disabilities in disasters.
This is the second joint public meeting of the NACSD and he NACIDD. For more details on the first joint meeting of these committees, see the NACSD/NACIDD Joint Inaugural Public Meeting Summary from March 30, 2022.
The NACSD and NACIDD are inviting key stakeholder groups to address the committees and share their ideas on issues related to meeting the unique health needs of people with disabilities and/or seniors during and after disasters and emergencies. We are especially interested in hearing comments from representatives of relevant industries, academia, health professions, health care consumer organizations, advocacy organizations, or state, Tribal, territorial, or local governments.
The NACSD and NACIDD invite those who are interested to request up to 4 minutes to address the board in person via Zoom.
Stakeholders may also submit questions or comments to NACSD and NACIDD ahead of the meeting by sending an email to NACSD@hhs.gov and NACIDD@hhs.gov, respectively, which committee members will consider during the meeting as time allows. Subject matter experts are also encouraged to comment on any item on the agenda.
