What motivated you to work at ASPR? I was very interested in the mission space. ASPR is so unique and so impactful. Our incredible workforce is there to assist during some of the most difficult times a person and our country might face.
I serve the ASPR as a Senior Advisor and have a portfolio that is pretty broad and includes preparedness, internal engagement, and also data and technology. I provide advice on policy and program activities, identify emerging opportunities and potential threats, and provide leadership on key initiatives such as cybersecurity, information management, and health care preparedness.
Does your heritage shape the way that you serve the public or give you a unique perspective that contributes to public service? I had some experiences that are very specific to my upbringing and heritage. For example, I had to navigate the medical world as a child helping my mother and grandmother with doctor visits since I spoke English fluently and they did not. I also think being bilingual and bicultural helps me look at the world from a variety of perspectives.
