Medical Reserve Corps

The numbers in this chart may not equal the total number of actual activities. The number of activities notes the number of unique entries by MRC unit leaders for the current month, but some activities have impacts in multiple areas.

Many MRC units across the country continued their support of COVID-19 vaccinations, contributing more than 130,000 hours to nationwide vaccination efforts in April.

The units contributing the most hours included the following:

• The Montgomery County Medical Reserve Corps (MD), which contributed over 14,500 hours to administer vaccines and provided support at multiple COVID-19 vaccination sites.
• The Denton County Medical Reserve Corps (TX), which volunteered over 10,000 hours in support of vaccination efforts.
• The Loudoun MRC (VA), which contributed over 5,000 hours to vaccinations.
• The Morris County Medical Reserve Corps (NJ), which volunteered over 5,000 hours, monitoring clients post vaccination in the observation areas at the Morris County regional COVID-19 vaccination site. Non-medical volunteers also assisted in transporting clients via wheelchairs throughout the site.

COVID-19 vaccination efforts in April 2021:

Other network highlights during April included these activities:

• The MD Responds MRC (MD) supported a COVID-19 mass vaccination event at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, MD.
• Volunteers with the Harris County Medical Reserve Corps (TX) supported the Harris County Office of Public Health as translators at COVID-19 vaccine sites and community outreach events.
• The Minnesota Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps (MN) and the Minnesota Board of Animal Health hosted a class in foreign animal disease response, which was attended by veterinarians, veterinary students, veterinary technicians, and emergency management staff.
• Members of the Kent County MRC (DE), the New Castle County MRC (DE), and the Sussex County MRC (DE) assisted the Delaware Behavioral & Emotional Support Team (DE BEST) at an emergency community food distribution event. The MRC volunteers helped with operations while interacting with and identifying community members that might need BEST support.
