Training and Education

When disaster strikes, NDMS teams may be asked to deploy in a matter of hours and work together seamlessly as a team to provide the best care in the worst times. To ensure they are ready to answer the call, NDMS teams train at federally-sponsored trainings and during team trainings throughout the year.

Meeting with Your Team

Every NDMS team is different, but most NDMS teams routinely meet, either in person or via teleconference. The team meetings are a great opportunity for NDMS team members network with their colleagues, learn new skills, build relationships with the other members of their teams, and learn about public health emergency response and recovery operations.

Online Training

In addition to the training mentioned above, NDMS personnel are expected to complete several simple online training courses on a variety of subjects, including the Incident Command Structure, ethical issues, and other topics related to federal service or their employment with NDMS.
